Advancing Oral Vaccination: Vaxart’s Founder and CSO Discusses the Potential of Easy-to-Administer Pills to Revolutionize Immunizations

Vaxart to Speak at World Vaccine Congress Washington 2024 on April 3

Vaxart, Inc. is a clinical-stage biotechnology company that has announced that its Founder and Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Sean Tucker, will be presenting at the World Vaccine Congress Washington 2024 in Washington, D.C. on April 3, 2024. This marks a recurring appearance for the company at the annual event in Washington, D.C., where Dr. Tucker will be discussing the topic of “Moving the needle: Blocking transmission and boosting existing vaccines by oral tablet vaccination”.

During his presentation, Dr. Tucker will discuss how Vaxart’s proprietary delivery platform can be used to develop oral recombinant vaccines that are administered via pills, allowing for easy storage and shipping without refrigeration while eliminating the risk of needle-stick injuries. The company believes that its pill vaccine delivery platform is well-suited for delivering a range of vaccines, including oral versions of existing vaccines and new indications.

Vaxart is currently working on several development programs for pill vaccines against coronavirus, norovirus, influenza and a therapeutic vaccine for human papillomavirus (HPV), which is their first immune-oncology indication. The company has filed various patent applications domestically and internationally to cover its proprietary technology and creations related to oral vaccination using adenovirus and TLR3 agonists.
