Brazil’s Rebecca Andrade Readies for Paris Olympics at World Challenge Cup

Rebecca Andrade, Brazil’s most decorated gymnast of all time, is set to make her Olympic season debut at the World Challenge Cup in Antalya, Turkey on March 29th. The 24-year-old will be competing on the uneven bars as she prepares for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which are just a few months away. Andrade is expected to be one of the standout stars of the artistic gymnastics competition in the French capital.

After winning vault gold and all-around silver at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, Andrade has continued to break records and make history in gymnastics. She has won a 2022 World all-around gold medal, Brazil’s first World team medal, and a five-medal haul at the 2023 World Championships. In Antalya, she will be joined by other top gymnasts such as Sanne Wevers, who won balance beam gold at the Rio Olympics; Melanie de Jesus dos Santos, who took bronze in both uneven bars and floor exercises at the Tokyo Olympics; Kaylia Nemour, who won silver on uneven bars at last year’s worlds; Flavia Saraiva and Lorrane Oliveira from Brazil; and Jade Barbosa from Argentina. Additionally, eight-time Olympian Oksana Chusovitina will be competing on all four apparatus as she prepares for her final chance to qualify for the Paris Olympics.

In men’s field: Ferhat Arican returns with his teammates Ibrahim Colak (still rings world champion), Adem Asil (still rings world champion) and other top gymnasts from around the world showcasing their skills on an international stage.
