Corey Davis: The Wild Card in the Jets’ Wide Receiving Corps

Jets reach out to Corey Davis for possible reunion

In a recent press conference at the AFC coaches breakfast, Jets coach Robert Saleh stated that the team is in regular communication with Corey Davis and that the door is always open for him to return. Reporter Connor Hughes has also indicated that the Jets are interested in bringing Davis back to the team.

If Davis does rejoin Gang Green, it could provide a significant boost to their wide receiving group, which already includes Garrett Wilson and recently-signed Mike Williams. Last August, Davis took a break from the game but was reinstated earlier this month, allowing him to make a comeback to the NFL. The 6-foot-3 wideout spent the first four years of his career with the Tennessee Titans before signing with the Jets in 2021.

During his time with the Jets, Davis showed promise as a valuable asset to their offense, recording 66 receptions for 1,028 yards and six touchdowns in his first two seasons with the team. If he does end up re-signing with Gang Green, it could potentially create a dynamic wide receiving corps that opposing teams will have to contend with.
