Five Boise State Health Sciences Faculty and Staff members to retire in 2024: A Celebration of Dedication and Service

Retirement Celebration for Faculty and Staff of the College of Health Sciences on April 9th

Five esteemed faculty and staff members of the College of Health Sciences at Boise State University are retiring in the spring of 2024. The campus community is invited to join in honoring these individuals for their hard work and dedication to Boise State University.

Sarah Toevs, Shelle Poole, Tim Kempf, Olgie Castillo, and Shawn Dunnagan have collectively dedicated many years of service to the university. They have made lasting impacts on the College of Health Sciences and the university as a whole.

Olgie Castillo has served as a management assistant in the Department of Kinesiology for 16 years. Shawn Dunnagan has been a lecturer III in the School of Public and Population Health for 13 years. Tim Kempf, a clinical associate professor in the Department of Kinesiology, has dedicated 19 years to Boise State. Shelle Poole, the divisional dean and clinical associate professor in the School of Nursing, has served for 13 years. Sarah Toevs, a professor in the School of Public and Population Health and the director of the Center for the Study of Aging, has contributed 24 years of service to Boise State University.

The campus community is encouraged to come together on Tuesday, April 9 from 3:00-4:30 p.m. in Bishop Barnwell Room at Student Union to celebrate their contributions during a retirement reception. Let’s honor these individuals for their hard work and dedication to Boise State University while also wishing them well in their future endeavors.
