From Cologne to Riyadh: Bringing Dragon Ball Z to Life in Theme Parks and Gaming Fairs

The world’s first Dragon Ball Z theme park is being constructed in Saudi Arabia.

In Cologne, Germany, at the 2019 Gamescom gaming trade fair, visitors had the chance to experience the latest version of Dragon Ball Z Kakarot. The excitement around the game was palpable as fans got to see their beloved anime series come to life in a new way. Meanwhile, in Saudi Arabia, plans are underway for the construction of the first-ever Dragon Ball Z theme park as part of the kingdom’s Qiddiya project. This massive entertainment venue will span 5.3 million square feet and feature seven different areas inspired by the original anime series. With more than 30 themed rides, hotels, and restaurants, the theme park is set to be a major tourist attraction in the region.

The Dragon Ball Z theme park will include five “world first” rides, including a 230-foot-high roller coaster named Shenron. The park is a testament to the growing interest in video games and anime in the kingdom, with significant investments being made to bring these popular forms of entertainment to Saudi audiences.
