New Leadership and Diverse Expertise at Adena Health as Steve Hirsch Takes Over as Chair

Adena Health Board of Trustees appoints officers and introduces new members

Adena Health has appointed Steve Hirsch as its new chair, taking over from Jennifer McKell. Hirsch, whose family owns Hirsch Fruit Farm in Chillicothe, will lead the board alongside vice chair Bob French, secretary Brian Ream, and treasurer Kevin Shoemaker. McKell will remain on the board as past chair.

As part of the leadership changes, three new members have been welcomed to the board: Penny Dehner, Jim Crabtree, and Sean Kallner. Dehner is a retired behavioral health administrator with years of experience in the field, while Crabtree has a background in education, marketing, and telecommunications management. Kallner has a diverse background spanning financial planning, school administration, and business management.

The new members fill the seats previously held by Bart Henshaw, Larry Phillips, and Joe Watson, who have served the maximum number of terms on the board. Adena Health has honored the departing members with a donation to the Adena Health Foundation fund of their choice.

Adena Health’s board consists of 15 members representing the founding churches of the organization, at-large members
