Fremont Public Schools board approves technology acquisitions

The Fremont Public Schools Board of Education unanimously approved the purchases of several technology devices and equipment for the 2024-2025 school year on Monday night, May 13. FPS Technology Director Cliff Huss presented the various purchases, which will be funded by the district’s General Fund and Special Building Fund Bond Proceeds account. These items are essential to complete the technology aspects of several bond projects, as explained by Huss during the meeting.

The board, with the exception of Board President Sandi Proskovec, who was absent, voted 5-0 to approve the purchases. The approved items include a projector and sound bar with installation, mounting, and cabling for $33,150 for multiple elementary schools and the Johnson Crossing Academic Center. Additionally, several 75-inch large screen televisions were approved for elementary schools and the Fremont High School Career and Technical Education Center at a cost of $55,000.

A 12-foot by 16-foot video wall, consisting of 16 different 55-inch televisions, was approved for the FHS CTE Center at a cost of $78,219.79. More exterior door/entryway card access control systems will be installed for campus security efforts at the high school CTE Center, costing $56,078.36.
